Description

The PUYALLUP TRIBAL HEALTH AUTHORITY, Kwawachee Counseling Center (KCC), located in Tacoma, Washington is looking for a professional licensed mental health counselor to provide quality, individualized treatment to our growing network of clients. KCC is a fast-paced and growing mental health clinic within a larger public health clinic, Puyallup Tribal Health Authority ( https://eptha.com ).

At our core, we are driven by the need to expand access to evidence-based culturally competent care from our patient base, of over 12,000 Indigenous people, who may be living with mental health conditions in Pierce County. We are seeking outstanding clinical care professionals passionate about making an impact on clients' lives.   • Loan repayment eligible. Clinician Responsibilities and Position Requirements:
    • Provide quality clinical assessment and treatment, interventions and care based on established best practices and medical necessity guidelines
    • Complete diagnostic assessments and develop measurable treatment plans to meet needs and goals of clients
    • Complete diagnostic assessment tools that support and correspond with client's clinical presentation
    • Complete encounter notes capturing each client session and interaction within established timeframes
    • Complete clinical documentation in compliance with payor standards
    • Maintain clear, up-to-date patient records and communications in HIPAA compliant EHR
    • Provide culturally sensitive, client-centered care
    • Work collaboratively with members of PTHA's support teams
    • Provide community referral sources as required throughout care and at discharge
    • When relevant, coordinate care with prescriber, PCP, or other collaterals
    • Maintain a confidential and professional looking virtual office space
    • Remain in compliance with company policies and procedures
    • Maintain good standing with all licensing boards
    • Complete all required continuing education requirements for licensure and specializations Essential Functions:
      • Perform comprehensive intake interviews of clients' mental, emotional, physical and spiritual needs.
      • Ability to competently screen and/or treat clients with suicide thoughts/behaviors, using evidenced based practice approaches (i.e., CBT, DBT).
      • Develop and conduct individualized treatment plans
      • Provide individual and group counseling to clients in the office and tribal school (as appropriate).
      • Establish and maintain client case files ensuring current quality standards as required by WAC and any other accrediting body and/or county/government/contract entities.
      • Assist in training and educating of staff and community, including obtaining any necessary certification as directed. Requirements
        • Master's Degree in Human Services or Behavioral Health field from an accredited university.
        • Current Washington State Associate license as a Mental Health Counselor, Social Worker, or Marriage and Family Therapist.
        • One (1) year experience in the behavioral health field providing direct counseling services to individuals, families and groups.
        • Experience and/or ability to work with electronic health record systems.
        • Current BLS certification.

          Salary Description

          $70,000 - $95,000 DOE
