General Job DescriptionThe Factory Project Manager (PM) is a key member of the Project Management team and is responsible for coordinating the execution of projects within the factory, ensuring that production runs efficiently, on schedule, and within scope. The Factory PM acts as the liaison between production, project management, and other departments, ensuring seamless communication and the timely flow of materials and information necessary for production. This role is critical in coordinating resources, tracking project progress, and troubleshooting any issues that arise on the production floor. As a vital team member of the factory, the Factory Project Manager will be the point person for tactical execution activities for their respective production project line.
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for projects entering the factory, coordinating with other departments such as engineering and procurement to ensure readiness for production
  • Manage production line schedules, ensuring that materials and drawings are available when needed to maintain production timelines
  • Track and communicate key project milestones, such as drawing releases, material landings, and shipping dates
  • Coordinate closely with the procurement team to track long-lead items and material availability
  • Leverage tools such as the Procurement Plan and SharePoint to track orders, compare Bill of Materials (BOM), and ensure accuracy and completeness of components needed for production
  • Drive proactive communication with department leads, PMs, and the factory team to address any delays or potential production bottlenecks
  • Escalate issues regarding drawing releases, material shortages, or schedule impacts to the appropriate departments to ensure timely resolution
  • Maintain an accurate status of ongoing projects within the factory, reporting regularly to the leadership team on project progress and any potential rocks
  • Coordinate, track, and ensure that all sub-components (e.g., shipped loose items) are accurately delivered and available for assembly and shipping
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assignedRequirements:Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in project management, operations, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
    • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or factory environment, with at least 2 years in a project management role
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows
    • Proactive problem-solver with the ability to anticipate challenges and find solutions
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with strong attention to detail
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effective across departments and levels
    • Knowledge of BOMs and familiarity with procurement processes a plus
    • Experience working with project management software a plusPhysical Requirements/Work EnvironmentThis position requires moderate physical activity in a manufacturing and office environment. To perform the essential functions of this job, the employee will divide their time seated at a computer desk and walking on the factory floor. Walking extended distances from location to location in the factory complex and meeting with people in noisy or congested areas will be a common occurrence. The employee must be able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 40 pounds of weight throughout assigned workday if required. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors.
      Compensation$80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
