unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing and
testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses,
our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets
for commercial, civil, national security and human spaceflight.As
part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will provide
technical expertise and analytical solutions to support the
development of rocket engines and other propulsion systems. You
will need proficiency in finite element analysis, structural
dynamics analysis, forcing function
development/implementation/validation, and general loads creation.
This position will directly impact the history of space exploration
and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention
towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.Responsibilities include
but are not limited to:
- Propulsion system loads analysis development and execution,
including cross-discipline interactions to ensure proper analysis
inputs/assumptions and to ensure generation of desired outputs
- Development and documentation of loads results for internal,
government, and commercial customers
- Finite Element Model development/refinement, validation, and
correlation to modal tests
- Finite Element Model reduction using Component Modal Synthesis
methods (e.g., Craig-Bampton)
- General loads development for propulsion systems
- Other low and high frequency loads tasks as requiredMinimum
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace or civil engineering
- Passion for propulsion system structural loads
- 2+ years of experience in the prediction/validation of low
frequency (
- Finite Element Modeling experience
- NASTRAN and MATLAB proficiency
- Ability to solve a variety of static and dynamic structural
problems using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations,
in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools)
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident
(current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as
a refugee or granted asylum.Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience solving a variety of complex structural
static/dynamic problems using a combination of analysis and
hands-on laboratory testing
- Rocket engine, spacecraft, or launch vehicle loads
experience
- Experience with the following commercial software tools:
HYPERMESH, ANSYS, NASTRAN DMAP, ATA's iMAT (MATLAB Toolbox),
PYTHON, FORTRAN
- Experience with time domain, frequency domain, and random
vibration statistical analysisCompensation Range for:CA applicants
is $89,820.00-$125,748.00;WA applicants is
